A corporate Champion is sought for this premier community project.
A corporation will be selected from S.F. bay area to sponsor This unique Memorial. The Lafayette Memorial should not be confused with a veteran’s hall. This is a Memorial and closed unless an event is booked.
The new $9,000,000.00 building is currently being operated as an event facility and has minimum pre scheduled meetings for veterans. Lady Justice will take over complete event/catering management and marketing responsibilities. The Corporate sponsor will have first call to book hall for breakfast meetings, shareholders events, holiday parties, etc. Sponsor will also benefit from all tax incentives for donating to Ca. non profit corporations.
Building is located across the street from the Lafayette reservoir, parkland, par course, hiking and biking trials.
The facility is easily assessable from San Jose (30 minutes) as well as San Francisco (20 minutes)
Designed by Field-Paoli of San Francisco, ground breaking took place on 22 April 2004 with construction completed in late 2005 by veteran owned McCrary Construction Company, also of San Francisco. The 9,500 square foot building takes the form of a lodge with a dramatic granite and glass exterior and cathedral-like interior featuring grand, airy spaces with high beamed ceilings, ample maple wood trim, clear-story glass, and stained concrete decks to complete the rustic styling which earned a 2007 Honor Award from the International Interior Design Association.
There is a ramp to accommodate wheelchair access that leads past a large open front plaza featuring the "Honor Wall of Patriots." This wall contains 360 bricks honoring local patriots and is flanked by two flagpoles flying the National, POW, and State colors.
At
the northwest corner of the building is a fully equipped, modern, stainless-steel kitchen with a full complement of cook tops, ovens, a broiler, microwave, double refrigerator, a freezer, 400 pound ice machine, two coffee makers, and a high speed dish sanitizer.
The southwest corner of the building contains Liberty, the fully equipped lounge with bar, cocktail tables, and fireplace. This room can also serve as a meeting facility for groups of about 30 or as a private area for dressing or staging.
It is the intent to have a company seeking tax benefits along with local recognition donate
$150,000.00 for a years operating expenses, a contract can be written for 1 year and possibly negotiate for 5-10 year option. Donation will be made to USMC with $100,000. for expenses and $50,000.00 to be used for marketing and press regarding new event location. The event management (Lady Justice) overhead is paid for from a % of income on catered events so no other expenses are required from sponsor.
A portion of funds go to support The Lazarex Foundation providing clinical trials funding for last stage cancer patients www.lazarex.org
