S.E.L.F
Sustainable Entrepreneur Lab Formulas
What does the S.E.L.F. program provide?
S.E.L.F. works with school districts nationwide to install sustainable educational programs based on entrepreneurship. We finance each project through private investors, grants and commercial lenders, as well as manage each school project from start to finish. Each participating school benefits from accelerated fund-raising activities and may also receive funds from a not-for-profit fund for school education projects.
What we do
1. Finance each school entrepreneur lab;
2. Assess school for possible inclusion;
3. Select qualifying schools for lab installations;
4. Promote provide press,social media, and coverage of each installation;
5. Provide project management on each project;
6. Train educator and staff to follow teacher manual; and,
7. Engage with school boards on not-for-profit fund use.

Educators have tough decisions to make these days.
With a slumping economy, education cuts, and communities struggling to support their schools, it's difficult to find funds to support more than the basics.
On top of that, the last 2 years have seen a mortgage crisis and now we have the big oil spill, and garbage keeps piling up - it goes on and on.
More and more schools are cutting salaries and initiating shorter school years. Teachers, principals and other support staff are being asked to take on more responsibility with less pay. Class sizes are being increased so that schools can reduce staff. These are short term remedies to a long term funding problem.
Not to mention substance abuse and lack of interest by students.
Traditional methods and old style funding systems developed in the 50’s for high schools no longer work. We need a new way to fund our public schools.
There are many CEOs of small businesses that have had their first seeds of success germinated in high school. These entrepreneurs will help if provided with a solution, not only will they get recognition for their generosity, but also receive substantial tax benefits. And in some cases, they may be saving their alma mater.
Not everyone is George Lucas who can donate $175 million to USC (see article at http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118018393.html?categoryid=1682&cs=1), but business leaders at all levels are giving back.
At Lady Justice we have a vision of a sustainable education system, S.E.L.F.
We are implementing tools that were long reserved for colleges and universities.
Corporations, foundations, grants and support from alumni and community participation all have to be included.
It's a simple cycle where everyone benefits.
It begins with school programs that produce common products like custom tee-shirts and fresh organic food. The products are then purchased by school groups, families, and local businesses. Students enrolled in the program learn real life business skills. The community benefits by keeping the business local. The school benefits by raising funds to support ongoing education needs.
These classes not only teach, but promote a healthier lifestyle and alternatives for every student, regardless of income and geographic location.
The Lady Justice Entrepreneur Labs have 3 basic goals:
• Teach students real life business skills in hands-on situations
• Support the school through revenue generated from the program
• Support the community by keeping business local and raising the education level
The constitution of the United States leaves the responsibility of funding K-12 schools with the State. Since the State and local governments fund education with taxes, higher income areas have more funds available for education than lower income areas. Over the last 2 years it's been a struggle to support any government funded program, and schools are no exception. Even higher income communities have had to face the budget with sharp guidelines. Additional facts on federal funding for education can be found on the U.S. Department of Education site.
Lady Justice supports young people that are growing up with a thirst for something meaningful - young men and woman that want to learn tools and help now, before college. Given the guidance and purpose our youth can move mountains. We invite you to join us. Please fill out our questionaire for follow up information and a chance for us to address your specific challenges. Click here.
We are scholars. We are warriors. We are advocates for education. Let us help your school. It’s time to teach, to excite, to enlighten - not worry about funding.
Entrepreneurial Labs
GARMENT/AWARD PRINT LAB
It’s time to think outside the box when asking for school donations. Lady Justice entrepreneur programs not only inspire students, but also corporate donors. What if you asked your donor list/Alumni or local merchants to order t-shirts with their company logo or a couple dozen logo coffee cups, instead of just donating cash? And what if those products were made in class (no shipping costs and huge margins)?
Fully equipped garment and award printing labs are a turn- key solution to all school fund-raising activities.
$1,000.00’s of dollars are spent on logo products in communities across America every day. Each school usually sends out for t shirts, sweats, hats, mugs, buttons, stickers, pennants and awards. Imagine if your school created these and made the profit for whatever purpose is needed (new field, teacher salarys, books, computers).
Not only are you teaching students a trade, but they are also learning all aspects of becoming successful entrepreneurs.
Once the word gets out, many local businesses will also send their garment printing to you. Theater’s, fire departments, law enforcement agencies, chambers, fairs, and more will all order to show support. New printing techniques along with Apple computers are revolutionizing the garment printing industry. Each lab comes with all equipment and training along with a full curriculum including bookkeeping, budget controls, advertising, sales, marketing, web design, Photoshop, business plan creation, proformas, shipping, inventory control, etc. Not only is this program a great in-house fundraiser, it's also an ideal business skills development lab for students to learn valuable job and entrepreneur lessons.
Let Lady justice evaluate your ideas, goals and needs. We’ll help get funding for this money-making education tool.

EDIBLE GARDEN PROJECT
These days the news is full of the perils of foreign- grown fruits and vegetables. The laws in Mexico, South America and elsewhere regarding pesticides are not up to American standards. Tests have proven that cancer-causing agents are on the strawberries from Mexico and that even frozen berries are not safe.
"Plenty, The 100 mile diet" is a text required for this class, along with a full business standards course. Students learn how to grow using clean organic pesticide practices, organic soil composting, irrigation, how to sell at farmers' markets and how to become self-sufficient.
Why we should eat locally-grown fruits and vegetables will be a focus. It's not just about the gas and pollution it takes to transport most commercial fruits and vegetables.
Funding solutions and a proposal will be created for each school with regards to region and weather.

Lady Justice is a division of www.safe-havens.org and was developed to help solve a need for non-profit management and fund-raising solutions. All profits from Lady justice go to benefit The Lazarex Cancer foundation (www.lazarex.org), and efforts to fund clinical trials for last stage cancer patients. Our team will maximize your fund-raising program or create a new one. Lady Justice is here to not only assist corporations with responsible donation solutions, but to help non- profits create multiple income streams. Lady Justice believes that with a little help and guidance, non-profits can become self-sufficient and financially empowered, creating their own profit centers. This eliminates the need to go back every year with hat-in-hand asking for further donations. This is a new era and change is required not only for Blue Chip companies, but in the way non-profits help their communities.
We invite you to review our programs and solutions throughout this site. And please contact us with any questions.
